What's this site all about then?
Tired of sifting through countless plugins and online resources, only to find they aren’t quite right for you?
Or, very likely, you don’t want to make a costly mistake of buying into a solution only to find later there’s a better option.
I’ve been working online, particularly with WordPress since the days when it truly was just a simple blogging platform, and I’ve seen it all: from the latest trends to the tried-and-true.
This site can help you navigate the services that I’ve used either on my own site(s) or those of my clients – very often on both – and find the perfect tools to use on your online business.
One of the biggest issues I found back in the early 2000’s when I was starting out was what’s known as “shiny object syndrome” or as I now think of it – excellent marketing. You know, you’ll see an ad for a service and it is really well done and often promises the world for little outlay or work. Sorry, it doesn’t work like that! Very often there’s an upsell, again great marketing and you get taken in and pay for the upgrade. Only then do you figure out that it’s not really something you need in your business or you’re not yet at the stage that it will be useful.
I remember getting all fired up about a webinar platform that explained how easy it will be to get new clients and the platform would do all the work apart from presenting. Fortunately it had a free trial and after looking at this thing for a week I realised it simply wasn’t the way I wanted to go. But it could easily have been a costly mistake.
Sadly, over the years I’ve paid for many WordPress plugins that I really didn’t need but seemed like a good idea at the time!
So how can I help you?
My blog posts and reviews are based on using countless products with my clients’ websites over the years. I’ll give you my honest opinion on what works and what doesn’t.
